                 NAA TRACK & FIELD CHAMPIONSHIPS 2016

    CHAMPIONSHIP  BEST PERFORMANCES

 

     There were six Championship best performances at the Northants Track & Field Champs.

     Leading the way was  Lucy Marshall of Woodford Green with Essex Ladies who threw a massive 60 metres 6 cm in the Senior Womens Hammer to surpass her own record of 57:52, which she set last year.

    This performance won her the Mitchell & Butler Cup for the best performance by a Female athlete.

     The Chronicle & Echo Cup for the best Male Performance went to Rugby & Northampton’s Adam Caulfield for the second time in three years. He recorded 4 mins 16.4 secs in the U15 Boys 1500m to knock 1.5 secs from Adam Searle’s year old record.

    In the U11 Boys 1200m  Arthur Tilt of Rugby & Northampton  was timed at 4:08.4 to take almost three seconds off the seven year old Championship best and from the same club Mary Beetham- Green won the U15 Girls 300m with 43.0 secs, which was three tenths under the four year old record and then went on to claim a double by taking victory in the 100m.

    Both the U11′s 600m races also saw Championship records with R&N’s Alice Bennett recording 1:56.3 in the girls race and Alfie Frayne of Kettering Town Harriers with a time of 1:51.7 for the boys.
